Flavio, rè de' Longobardi

Opera by Handel (libretto by N F Haym, partly based on Corneille's Le Cid), first produced at the King's Theatre, Haymarket, London, England, on 14 May 1723. It is set in a mythical Britain. Guido kills the father of his lover Emilia in a duel; King Flavio restores Guido to her after his execution is threatened.
