Fleming, Peggy

Fleming, Peggy (Gale) (1948– )

US ice skater. She won the world championship three times (1966–68), and an Olympic gold medal in 1968, where her elegant style won her worldwide acclaim. After skating in professional revues, she served as a commentator for ABC television.

She was born in San Jose, California and began skating at the age of nine.
