flight simulatorComputer-controlled pilot-training device, consisting of an artificial cockpit mounted on hydraulic legs, that simulates the experience of flying a real aircraft. Inside the cockpit, the trainee pilot views a screen showing a computer-controlled projection of the view from a real aircraft, and makes appropriate adjustments to the controls. The computer monitors these adjustments, changes both the alignment of the cockpit on its hydraulic legs, and the projected view seen by the pilot. In this way a trainee pilot can progress to quite an advanced stage of training without leaving the ground. |

The X52 Pro's new interactive Multi-Function Display (iMFD) works with leading flight sim software, presenting and controlling cockpit instrumentation at a glance. The Aviator was designed with all of the product specs a flight sim enthusiast would expect from a high performance joystick, including a rugged, WWII aircraft-inspired military-style design, rapid response trigger, eight way hat switch, plus illuminated rocket fire button with safety cover. The AMD Athlon 64 FX dual-core processor-based machines give us a 25% reduction in build times for development, while at the same time still providing excellent frame rates when we crank the display and graphics settings all the way up in Flight Sim," said Carl Edlund, dev manager, Microsoft Flight Sim Team. |
