Flint

Town in Flintshire, northeast Wales, situated on the Dee estuary, 20 km/12 mi from Chester; population (2001) 11,900. Major artificial-fibre factories were formerly located here, but light industry now predominates. Flint Castle was built between 1277 and 1284. It was here that Richard II was betrayed to Henry of Bolingbroke (Henry IV) in 1399.
