Flor, Claus Peter (1953- )

German conductor. He studied at Weimar and with Kurt Masur at Leipzig. He was principal conductor of the Suhler Philharmonic Orchestra 1981-84, and guest conductor with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Dresden Staatskappelle. In 1985 he worked as musical director of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and principal guest conductor with the Philharmonia, London. He made his US debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in 1985. He has also led concerts with the Boston, Dallas, St Louis, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras, and opera in Berlin (with Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper), Dresden, and Hamburg.
