Fo, Dario (1926- )

Italian dramatist and actor. His plays are predominantly political satires combining black humour with slapstick. They include Morte accidentale di un anarchico/Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970), Non si paga non si paga/Can't Pay? Won't Pay! (1974) and L'Anomalo Bicefalo/The Abnormal Two-brainer (2003). Fo was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1997.

As an actor he is best known for a one-man show, Mistero buffo/Comic Mystery (1969), based on the medieval mystery plays.
