Föhr

One of the North Frisian Islands in the North Sea, belonging to Germany, off the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein; population (1991) 8,200. Föhr covers an area of 82 sq km/31 sq mi. Fishing is the main occupation, with oysters being exported to the German mainland. The main town, Wyk, is also a health resort. Wildfowl mass in great numbers on the island in the autumn.

The above statement can be further strengthened by a study carried out by Kaiser Family Foundation (Roberts, Foehr and Rideout, 2005, cited in Nyland, Marvez and Beck, 2006) that describe the lives of youth as being "media saturated.
A Kaiser Family Foundation Study (Ride-out, Roberts, & Foehr, 2005) focused on the use of media among a national sample of students without disabilities aged 8-18 in Grades 3-12.
