Fogarty, Carl George (1965– )| English motorcyclist who won the World Superbike Championship in 1994, 1995, 1998, and 1999, each time on a Ducati. Born in Lancashire, he first came to prominence in 1985 when he won the Newcomer Manx Grand Prix. Riding a Honda, he was TT Formula 1 world champion three years in a row 1988–90. He won the Isle of Man Senior TT in 1990, and in 1992, on a Kawasaki, he became the first British motorcyclist to win the World Endurance championship. In September 1999 he won the World Superbike Championship for a record-breaking fourth time. In April 2000 he broke his arm badly during a race in Australia and was forced to retire later in the year. He was awarded an MBE in 1998. |

| In 2002 he founded the Foggy Petronas team which competed in the World Superbike Championship, but the team had only limited success and folded at the end of the 2006 season. |
