Foligno

Town in Umbria region, central Italy, 30 km/19 mi southeast of Perugia; population (1991) 53,200. It is a railway centre, and there are textile, leather, soap, paper, and brick industries There is a 12th-13th-century cathedral and other medieval churches; the 14th-century Palazzo Trinci houses a museum and art gallery.
