Fontainas, André (1865–1948)

Belgian poet and critic. He spent much of his life in France. A Symbolist writer (see Symbolism), his informative memoirs, Mes souvenirs du symbolisme 1929 and Confessions d'un poète 1936, are now as highly valued as his collections of verse, Le sang des fleurs 1889 and Le jardin des îles claires 1901.
