Food and Agriculture Organization

United Nations specialized agency that coordinates activities to improve food and timber production and levels of nutrition throughout the world. It is also concerned with investment in agriculture and dispersal of emergency food supplies. It has headquarters in Rome and was founded in 1945.

The USA cut its FAO funding in 1990 from $61.4 million to $18 million because of its alleged politicization.
