Ford, Bruce

    0.10 sec.

Ford, Bruce (1956– )

US tenor. He studied at Houston and made his debut there in 1981, in the premiere of Floyd's Willie Stark. He sang with the Wuppertal Opera 1983–85, as Belmonte, Dardanus in T Gatti's Scylla, and Ramiro, and at Mannheim 1985–87 as Fenton, Ferrando, and Tamino. He was much admired in such Rossini roles as Argirio (from Tancredi, which he performed at Wexford in 1986), Rinaldo (from Armida), and Agorante (from Ricciardo e Zoraide, which he performed at Pesaro in 1990). He made his debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in 1991 as Almaviva; he also sang Mitridate there in a new production of Mozart's opera in the same year.
