Henry Ford II was the grandson of the company's founder, Henry Ford, and ran the Ford Motor Company from 1945 to 1979. His tenure saw the revival of the company's ailing fortunes and the launch of the hugely popular Mustang and Thunderbird models, as well as the company's expansion into overseas markets.
