Forsyth

Town and administrative headquarters of Monroe County, central Georgia; population (1990) 4,300. It is located 35 km/22 mi northwest of Macon. An early railroad town dating from 1834, it has been a centre for cotton ginning, lumber milling, and textile manufactures. It is home to Tift College (1847).

Judge Nigel Gilmour QC jailed Adair for 18 months and praised workman David Forsyth for his publicspirited behaviour.
