Forsyth County

County in north-central North Carolina; area 1,067 sq km/412 sq mi; population (1990) 265,900. It is situated in the Piedmont, bounded to the west by the Yadkin River. Its administrative headquarters is Winston-Salem, one of the world's leading tobacco markets and manufacturer of cigarettes and tobacco products.
