Fort Belvoir

Military post in Fairfax County, north Virginia; population (1990) 8,600. It is situated on the Potomac River, 14 km/9 mi southwest of Alexandria. Formerly Camp Humphreys (1915), it has an engineering school.

The Army is considering allowing a private developer to build a military theme park at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, in order to finance a military museum at the same site, reports The Washington Post.
The bases are Fort Drum, Fort Dietrich, Fort Belvoir and the Aberdeen Proving Ground.
