Fort Rucker

Military training installation in Coffee and Dale counties, southeast Alabama; population (1990) 7,600. It is located 13 km/8 mi northeast of Enterprise. The Army Aviation Training Center and School here dates from the late-1940s. The nearby communities of Dothan, to the southeast, and Ozark, to the northeast, are economically dependent on the base.
