Fountain Hills

Town in Maricopa County, south-central Arizona; population (1990) 10,000. It is located 32 km/20 mi northeast of Phoenix, in the McDowell Mountains, on the edge of the Fort McDowell and Salt River Indian reservations. This residential and resort community is noted for a 171-m/560-ft fountain, said to be the world's tallest, which is operated intermittently from a local lake.
