Fournier, Pierre (1906–1986)

French cellist. He studied at the Paris Conservatory, making his debut in 1925. He toured widely and was professor of cello at the Paris Conservatory 1941–49. He performed chamber music with Szigeti, Primrose, and Badura-Skoda, and gave the first performance of concertos by Roussel, Martin, and Martinů.
