Fournier, Pierre (1906-1986)

French cellist. He studied at the Paris Conservatory, making his debut in 1925. He toured widely and was professor of cello at the Paris Conservatory 1941-49. He performed chamber music with Szigeti, Primrose, and Badura-Skoda, and gave the first performance of concertos by Roussel, Martin, and Martinů.
