Fra due litiganti il terzo gode

Opera by Giuseppt Sarti (libretto altered from Carlo Goldoni's Le nozze), first produced at La Scala, Milan, on 14 September 1782. Mozart quotes a tune from it in the second-act finale of Don Giovanni; it was first produced in Vienna, Austria, on 28 May 1783. Set against a background of feuding Count and Countess, the steward Masotto wins the heart of the serving maid Dorina after outmanoeuvring his rivals Titta and Mingone.
