Italian composer. He studied first in Italy, then with Draeseke at Dresden and at the Munich Conservatory, Germany, under Rheinberger. He was director of the Cherubini Conservatory, Florence, 1926-28.

Asrael (1888), Cristoforo Colombo (1892), Fior d'Alpe, Signor di Pourceaugnac (after Molière, 1897), Germania, La figlia di Jorio (after d'Annunzio), Notte di leggenda, Glauco, and (with Giordano) Giove a Pompeii (1921).
