Franciabigio, adopted name of Francesco di Cristofani Bigi (1482-1525)

Florentine painter. His work includes portraits such as Portrait of a Young Man (1514, National Gallery, London). He collaborated with Andrea del Sarto on frescoes in the Church of SS Annunziata, Florence (1512), and in decorating the Medici palace at Poggio a Caiano.

He studied under Mariotto Albertinelli and Piero di Cosimo.
