Franck, Melchoir

Franck, Melchoir (c. 1579–1639)

German composer. He worked at Augsburg and briefly at Nuremberg, and in 1603 became Kapellmeister to the Duke of Coburg. He was influenced by Hassler and the Venetians.

Works

Melodiae sacrae for three to 12 voices, Paradisus musicus for four voices, church music, hymn tunes; songs with instrumental accompaniment; madrigals; instrumental pieces.
