Franklin Park

Town in Cook County, northeast Illinois; population (1990) 18,500. It is a suburb bordering Chicago. Its location, to the south of O'Hare International Airport, has precipitated substantial industrial development in recent decades. Manufactures include electronics, steel and aluminium products, and rivet-setting equipment. Food processing and metal stamping also feature in the local economy.

Franklin Park

Urban park between the Jamaica Plain and Dorchester sections of Boston, Massachusetts. Part of Boston's series of connected parks, the Emerald Necklace, it is the largest park in the city and home to a golf course and a 72-acre municipal zoo (founded 1911), involved in Species Survival Plans relating to birds, big cats, and primates.
