Frascati

Resort town in Lazio region, west-central Italy, 320 m/1,050 ft above sea level in the Alban Hills, 18 km/11 mi southeast of Rome; population (1991) 20,100. Frascati is known for its market gardens and for the white wine to which it gives its name. There are several interesting churches, a cathedral, and many fine parks and villas. Nearby is the site of the ancient city of Tusculum.
