Blue Ash

City in southwestern Ohio, 8 km/5 mi northeast of Cincinnati, of which it is a commuter suburb; population (1990) 12,000. A campus of the University of Cincinnati is situated here and there is an airport.

In addition to some of the species listed in the slope forest, tree species found primarily in the hilltop forest include Fraxinus quadrangulata and Quercus muhlenbergii.
Other native ashes include Fraxinus quadrangulata or blue ash and Fraxinus profunda, pumpkin ash, both from the eastern region of the United States.
The understory in Plot 3 is also dominated by Acer saccharum followed by Fraxinus quadrangulata and Prunus serotina (Table 2).
