French, Dawn (Roma) (1957– )

Welsh comedian and actor. She rose to fame in partnership with Jennifer Saunders with whom she appeared on the British stand-up comedy circuit, the television series The Comic Strip Presents (1982), and subsequently in their own long-running television show, French and Saunders.

One of the creators of the widely acclaimed sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, she has herself featured in the television series Girls on Top (1985), Murder Most Horrid (1991), and The Vicar of Dibley (1994). She starred in the television film Sex & Chocolate (1997). She is married to comedian Lenny Henry.
