| Tokyo, Japan, Aug 4, 2005 - (JCNN) - Takeda Pharmaceutical and Santhera Pharmaceuticals jointly announced on August 3 that the two companies have signed an agreement for Idebenone, (SNT-MC17), a drug candidate for Friedreich's Ataxia developed by Takeda. In 1996, she established the Theresa Byrnes Foundation, which funds research toward developing a cure for Friedreich's Ataxia, a fatal degenerative disease of the nervous system, which she has. It was the cardiologist who put all the side effects together and diagnosed Friedreich's ataxia (1). |
