Frieseke, Frederick (Carl) (1874–1939)| US Impressionist painter, greatly influenced by the works of Pierre-Auguste Renoir. He moved to Paris in 1898 to study at the Academie Julien, and latter settled at Giverny, spending the rest of his life in France, often painting female nudes or women outdoors in his garden or indoors in his house. He was born in Owosso, Michigan. |
