Frome

Market town in Somerset, England, 40 km/25 mi southeast of Bristol; population (2001) 24,200. Industries in the town include foundries, printing works, and factories producing plastics.

A medieval shopping street (Cheap Street) survives in Frome. The town was once the centre of a prosperous wool trade. It has a 14th-century church.
