The black nations of southern Africa in the ‘front line’ of the struggle against the segregationist policies of South Africa: Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia, as well as Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Financial, economic, technical and humanitarian assistance was also requested for Afghanistan, Angola, Benin, the Central African Republic, Djibouti, El Salvador, Lebanon, Liberia, Madagascar, Nicaragua, Vanuatu, Yemen, the front-line States in southern Africa and the Palestinian people.
The Conference also agreed that African countries suffering from the economic repercussion of the Gulf crisis should benefit from the global compensation fund to be established for front-line States.
Before flying to South Africa that afternoon, the Secretary-General met in Windhoek with representatives of the front-line States.
