Mount Fuji on the island of Honshu, Japan. Its snow-capped symmetrical cone is Japan's most photographed landmark.

Japanese volcano and highest peak, on Honshu Island, near Tokyo; height 3,778 m/12,400 ft. Dormant since 1707, it has a Shinto shrine and a weather station on its summit. Fuji has long been revered for its picturesque cone-shaped crater peak, and figures prominently in Japanese art, literature, and religion.
