Fulkerson, James (1945- )

US composer and trombonist. He graduated from the University of Illinois and was a Fellow at the Center for Creative Performing Arts in Buffalo 1969-72. He was resident composer at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne 1977-79, and at Dartington Hall, Devon, from 1981. His compositions often display his virtuosity on the trombone.

Co-ordinative Systems 1-10 (1972-76); Music for Brass Instruments 1-6 (1975-78); Vicarious Thrills for amplified trombone and pornographic film (1979); symphony (1980); Force Fields and Spaces for trombone, tape, and dancers (1981); Rat's Tale for six dancers, trombone, and ensemble (1983).
