Sheehy, Gail (1937– )

US journalist and writer on popular psychology. Sheehy worked as an editor on New York magazine (1966–77). She wrote a number of best-selling books, including Passages: Predictable Crises of Adult Life (1976) and The Silent Passage (1992), which excelled in making the findings and theories of academics available to the public.
