Gaithersburg

Town in Montgomery County, central Maryland; population (1990) 39,500. A residential and commercial suburb, it is located 32 km/20 mi northwest of Washington, DC. Gaithersburg is home to the US Bureau of Standards and to a number of corporate facilities.
