Gale, Thomas (c.1636–1702)

English antiquary, professor of Greek at Cambridge 1666, fellow of the Royal Society 1677, and dean of York 1697. He is noted for his editions of a large series of English chronicles published between 1684 and 1691 and for his editions of Gildas and Nennius.
