    0.01 sec.

Gallus, Gaius Vibius Trebonianus (c. AD 205–253)

Roman emperor from 251. He is said to have been implicated in the defeat and death of the emperor Decius, whom he succeeded. After his accession, he negotiated peace with the Goths, conceding them a fixed annual subsidy and allowing them to retain their captives and plunder. He was killed by his own soldiers on the march to suppress the rebellion of Aemilianus, legate of Moesia.
