Garden of the Gods

District of Colorado, western USA, 10 km/6 mi northwest of Colorado Springs; area 5 sq km/2 sq mi. The district contains formations of eroded red and white sandstone, some of which resemble cathedral spires. The area is a popular tourist destination, especially the western half which the city of Colorado Springs purchased and set up as a scenic park in 1932.
