Gare Loch

Northern inlet of the River Clyde, in Argyll and Bute unitary authority, Scotland, extending about 12 km/8 mi in length, with a width of 1 km/0.6 m. It has a shipbreaking yard, and is mainly used by the Royal Navy, which has a nuclear submarine base at Faslane Bay in the upper reaches of the loch.

Garelochead, a small holiday resort, sits at its northernmost point. The yachting centre of Rhu lies on its east shore, near the opening to the Clyde.
