Garneau, Marc (1949– )

Canadian astronaut and executive vice-president of the Canadian Space Agency from 2001. His space shuttle flights include the Endeavour mission of November 2000 to assemble the International Space Station and deliver supplies. He logged 667 hours in space. Garneau was selected as a Canadian astronaut in 1983, and became deputy director of the Canadian astronaut programme in 1989. He was selected for astronaut training at NASA's Johnson Space Center in 1992.
