Gastoldi, Giovanni Giacomo (c. 1550–1622)

Italian composer. He was maestro di cappella at the church of Santa Barbara, Mantua, 1592–1608; he was then appointed choirmaster at Milan Cathedral.

Works

a Magnificat and other church music; madrigals; canzoni and balletti for voices and instruments (those of 1591 influenced Morley and Weelkes).
