Gault, Stanley C(arleton) (1926- )

US manufacturing executive. At General Electric (1948-79) he specialized in consumer products and major appliances. He was later chairman of the board and CEO of Rubbermaid (1980-91), where he instituted a rigorous management shakeup and quality controls to make the company a market leader. In 1991 he became CEO of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was born in Wooster, Ohio.
