Geburtstag der Infantin, Der

Pantomime by Franz Schreker after the story by Oscar Wilde, composed in 1908 and first performed in Vienna, Austria, on 27 June 1908. It was orchestrated in 1923 as a suite for large orchestra and performed in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 18 October 1923, conducted by Willem Mengelberg. A new ballet scenario by Schreker was arranged in 1926, with the title Spanisches Fest, and was performed in Berlin, Germany, on 22 January 1927, conducted by Leo Blech. Wilde's story was set as an opera by Alexander von Zemlinsky in 1920–21, Der Zwerg.
