Gehlen, Reinhard (1902–1979)

German World War II general and intelligence specialist. He became responsible for all intelligence relating to the Eastern Front 1942 and at the end of the war secured all the archives and files of his department and surrendered to US forces. He then set up his own intelligence agency working with the Western powers and specializing in Soviet intelligence.
