Genga, Girolamo

    0.21 sec.

Genga, Girolamo (1472–1551)

Italian painter and architect. Genga was born in Urbino and worked for much of his life there. He collaborated with his master Signorelli before going with Perugino to Florence in 1502. Back in Urbino he completed the top storey of the ducal palace about 1536. He also restored and decorated the Villa Imperiale near Pesaro for the Duke of Urbino, decorating it with fine wall-paintings, stuccoed ceilings, and majolica tiled floors.
