Genzmer, Harald (1909- )

German composer. His compositions include choral, orchestral, and chamber pieces. He taught composition at the Hochschule für Musik at Freiburg im Breisgau 1946-57, and was appointed professor at the Munich Hochschule in 1957.

He studied first in Marburg and later with Paul Hindemith in Berlin.

Works

the cantata Racine (1949); Mass in E; symphony no. 1, Bremen symphony; concertos for piano, cello, oboe, flute (2), trautonium (2); two string quartets; sonatas for violin, flute, and other chamber music.
