Georgian, Karine (1944– )

Russian cellist. She studied with Rostropovich in Moscow and has appeared with such orchestras as the Leningrad and Royal Philharmonics, and the Philadelphia and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras. Her US debut was with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1969, and she played at the Promenade concerts in London in 1985 and 1990. She has been a professor at the Detmold Hochschule since 1984.
