Gertler, André (1907–1998)
| Hungarian, later Belgian, violinist. He studied with Hubay and Kodály, settled in Belgium in 1928, and formed his own string quartet in 1931. He was a professor at the Hanover Hochschule 1964–78, and was well known as a performer of 20th-century music, especially that of Bartók. |
