Gestido, Oscar Daniel (1901-1967)

Uruguayan politician and president 1966. He took over the presidential office at a time of major economic decline and political corruption. Gestido's untimely death shortly after his election as president led to his counterpart, Jorge Pacheco Areco, becoming president.
