In computing, technique whereby a computer accepts human gestures transmitted via hardware such as a DataGlove as meaningful input to which it can respond. Gesture recognition is a key technology needed in the development of virtual reality systems if they are to allow humans to interact fully and naturally with objects in computerized worlds.
